Alison Bateman-House, PhD, MPH, MA is Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Ethics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. In 2023, Bateman-House was appointed a member of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP). She has published and spoken extensively on the history and ethics of using humans as research subjects; balancing access to investigational medical products inside and outside of clinical trials with the need to collect robust safety and equity data; gene therapy research; individualized therapeutics; and public health ethics.
