Alison​ ​Bateman​-​House​, ​PhD​, ​MPH, MA​ ​is​ ​​Assistant​ ​Professor​ ​in​ ​the​ ​Division​ ​of​ ​Medical Ethics​ ​at​ ​NYU​ ​Grossman​ ​School​ ​of​ ​Medicine​. In 2023, Bateman-House was appointed a member of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP). She has published and spoken extensively on the​ ​history​ ​and ethics​ ​of​ ​using​ ​humans​ ​as​ ​research​ ​subjects​; balancing access to investigational medical products inside and outside of clinical​ ​trials with the need to collect robust safety and equity data​​; ​ gene therapy research; individualized therapeutics; and public health ethics.
